A little about us
"Sharhyste Dobermanns is owned by sheila graham"
We are a small hobby kennel based near Carlisle in cumbria, ideally situated being in the countryside, near both the solway coast and on the fringes of the lake district, this gives opportunities for wonderful places to excercise and enjoy our dobemanns.
I have always had a passion for dogs of all kinds, and my interest in dobermanns was first born after watching magnum p.i which is now too many years ago !! i remember seeing the two creatures on this programme and being totally captivated by both the style and beauty of this unique breed.
I vowed then, that one day I would own such a dog.
this dream was not to become a realization until many years, and three children later.
it was after i achieved my dream with my first dobermann, a male whom i called zac that i decided i would try my hand a dog shows, thats when i suddenly grasped that there was more to dog showing than just taking your dog in the ring.
on many occasion during these earlier days i am sure i was more a caberet performer than a budding dog handler !! it was quite a while before i managed to get my hands and feet to work independently, and even now i still often have problems!
then it happened, i won my first rosette and after that i was hooked on showing dogs, so it was then inevitable that more dobermanns would come into our family.
our Affix comes from the first three initials of all my childrens names, Sharryle, rhys and stepehn, without whose help and support i could never have achieved my aims of owning dobermanns, my children's assistance is very much appreciated, both my two boys have helped out in their own unique ways prior to leaving the nest to persue their own lives but still come up trumps when needed, and my daughter who is a constant support daily, giving her time freely and generously in helping to look after and care for our dobermanns and of course dog sit whislt i go showing.
Thankyou sharryle for your tireless daily devotion
and also rhys and stephen for being there when needed.
